The problem with calling things Racism! that aren’t racism is that actual, real, evil racism goes right under the radar of polite society, the nasty undertones continue to swell, and people like Taranto—who, I dare say, knows a thing or two about incendiary language and attention-grabbing tactics—will never call out his conservative co-offenders on the kind of poisonous hatred they use to line their pockets with millions while claiming to be colorblind and lily-white-innocent when it comes to such charges.

I mean, I know you’re not a Bill Maher fan, sds, but really… to accuse someone (or support the accusation of someone) who is about as free of racial bias of anyone in the history of media or comedy of being, you know, a Racist!, well… that’s reprehensible in my book.

Your statement implies that because it’s humor, it’s not racist. I’m sure you don’t actually believe that.

Is it funny? Sure, in a way. I don’t have any problems affirming that. But it doesn’t change the fact that Maher is spouting insidious stereotypes of black men in a way that would get most non-liberals publicly crucified.

Also, just because it’s humor, doesn’t mean it’s not racist. A great many things that you consider humor is highly racist and sexist. I’m assuming that you might be an affluent straight-white-male. There are few offensive jokes that you will ever be subject to as a straight-white-male… much like Bill. Anyone who ISN’T straight, white, or male do and will have jokes made about them. What’s the big deal though, right? I challenge you to step in to the shoes of someone who is oppressed (and in your [possible] case, the only thing in which you might be able to obtain in the realm of oppressed is to grow some balls and for a day or two, say that you are queer, and don’t just half ass it, really play the role.. and not in the BS stereotypical way, the way in which YOU might act in order to make a “humorous” joke about people that are LGBT, Queer, or trans/cis-gender…) and then see how it feels to be someone that is oppressed.

Then tell me what’s the big fucking deal.
