This is kind of silly. The tea party doesn’t have to be “labeled” as a racist kooks, they prove themselves to be racist every single time they have a march. They write it into the signs they carry around with them and scream it from their lips. Even if you want to split hairs, they are, at the very least, hateful toward anything they consider “non-Christian,” and that is equal to racism in a lot of people’s books, including mine. The “kook” spawns from a clear, distinct, emotion-based motivation, removed from any need for fact or actual history. They represent themselves as aggressively uninformed about the country they claim to love so much. You may be sheltered from people who are willing to admit in broad daylight that they hate black people, but you are welcome to come take a walk through a break room at one of the industrial shops in my rural Texas town and listen to the word “nigger” spew forth without remorse at record speeds. Come talk to my friend Rusty who recently cried as he told me about losing his best friend of 30 years, because he never knew he was racist until he said, “I should go to DC myself and kill that fucking nigger.” You are welcome to take my seat behind the 19-year old oil and gas trust fund baby that I sit behind in Administrative Process who regularly calls Obama a terrorist, despite the professor’s attempts to stop her.

As an independent-minded swing voter, I can guaran-goddamn-tee you that my vote will be RAGING left the next election cycle, because I am willing to take the risk of the United States losing its overbloated ego and “superpower” status, then ever vote in a way that aligns myself with a party of hate.
