The Denver Post’s David Harsanyi wants it to be known that there are other reasons for opposing Obama’s plans than racism. Remember this logic if you’re ever pulled over for drunk driving.
“Officer, by focusing on my .5% BAC, you’re ignoring the 99.5% of my blood that isn’t pure alcohol. Sure, some of my actions and seeming irrationality might be influenced by that one-half-of-one-percent, but that’s no reason not to take me seriously. Whose to say I wouldn’t be acting crazy even if I were sober? Maybe I was weaving all over the road because I suck at driving! Sure, I might smell like liquor—but I smell like sweat, cigarettes, and possibly urine. Why are you guys so hyper-focussed on the alcohol?”
Maybe you can persuade the officer you don’t have a proglem. Good luck!
is this supposed to be .5% or .05%? it’s a little bit of a difference when we’re talking about BAC.
As a non-drinker, I’m bad at getting BAC correct. Is .5% the one where you’re dead? If so, that’s the one I was going for.
Just out of curiosity, may I ask why you are a non-drinker? Personal preference, religious conviction, etc?
