ok.
so. in the world of architecture and interior design, we use mainly two modeling programs to design our masterpieces. CAD + Revit. this is Revit. its fairly new still, and most firms stick to CAD. we use both here at P+W, but most of my training has been in Revit. and let me tell you. it is the future of design and knowing this program better than a majority of the people in my field = job stability.
im fucking loving Revit right now for some reason. the project im working on is called “Promethean” and its pretty badass, and they chose me specifically for the project because of my knowledge in Revit.
SO. word to the wise for you up-coming designers. LEARN REVIT. it has a TON of value right now in this economy.
I got pretty good at AUTOCAD at my previous job (engineering not architecture). do yall Architects learn AUTOCAD as like the baseline drafting program and everything else is more complicated versions but more specialized, or what?
Except for “architecture” and “interior design,” I did not understand a single word of this post.
